RAJAR, provides audience research for Radio stations. These stations are all in the United Kingdom. They research the BBC’s radio stations. They also research stations like Absolute Radio.
How does it conduct audience research?

I believe that the BBC radio stations are the most popular because they have a unique selling point. This is that they are 100% truthful. They are non-bias and this means that people want the real answers and they come to the BBC.

There are two main reasons for a company to have an ideal audience member.
How would a company find out about their ideal audience member?
They could do many things, for example, Interviews and surveys. These will get what the consumer does and every aspect of their life. They will use the most consistent results, this will give them an idea of their ideal audience member.
How could knowing who the ideal audience member is benefit the funding of the product?
This would benefit the funding as they will not waste money creating content which will not be liked. They will be able to create content which is aimed towards what their typical viewer enjoys.
