Conventions of a TV Magazine Programme:
Technical Codes: Mise-en-scene, Camera Work, Editing and Lighting:
The mise-en-scene in regards to camerawork is often very basic, which is usally keept to around 3 to 4 camera angles. One being on the presenters, one on the guests, then the third and fourth will be close ups on the presenter /guest who is speaking. Concerning the lighting, this is usually very bright and all the presenters and audience are well lit so its easy to see.

- Camerawork: Camerawork is very basic camerawork, for example a lot of the shots will mainly be wide shots, and there will be some mid shots on the speakers.
- Editing: The editing is very simple and usualy uses cuts to transition between shots.
- Lighting: Lighting is brightly lit on the presenters and guests, this is so its easier for the audience to see what they are looking at, and make it more visually pleasing.
- Symbolic: Usually sofas are used in these shows. The sofas typicaly used are similar to the ones you might have at home and the colours used are colours which symbolises nature, purity etc. This therefore makes the shows more appealing and relatable for the target audience.
Content:
- Most shows offer a variety of conent which differs each show, for example these shows usualy have celebrities guest on, however the topics which are discussed in each show are always different and can be on anything from serious problems, gosip, news topical items or even national problems.
Mode of Address:
- The mode of address used is usualy very informal, this is because the aim of these shows are to gain a connection with the audience and treat them like a family member.
- The presenters often address the camera as if they are talking directly to the audience which connotes this ‘friend’ connection with the audience.
Studio Presentation:
- The set designs for these shows is very key to the genre of this show. This is because the show is about creating a relationship between the audience and the show so they create 'home like' relatable location.
- The sets are usually built up of home like furniture and props, which allow the audience to relate the show and feel as if they are sat in the living room talking to the presenters as friends.
- Props used are things like hot beverages and lamps, things which will typically be used by the audience at the same point in time as the show, thus ensuring the connotation of the home environment.
Target Audience:
- The target audience for these shows are middle aged Adults, around the age of 30. This is because of the type of content on the show.
- The gender is aimed more towards women as well considering topics and guests.

Reason: The reason that the One Show is broadcasted on BBC One at 7:00pm is that it would be easy for its target audience to view and watch. Most of the shows on BBC One appeal to the target audience of the One Show. So it would be likely that their target audience is watching BBC One when it comes on. |
This Morning is Broadcasted live on ITV for 10;30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the show features topical stories and guests.
Reason: The reason that This Morning is Broadcasted on ITV is that it is easy for the target audience to view the show. As most of the shows on ITV would already appeal to them, it is likely that they will be watching that channel anyway and see the show. |

Reason: The reason that the One Show is broadcasted at 7:oopm is that it is easy for the target audience to see it. The target audience is women aged 20 - 35, and this is typically when they would be home and watching TV. |
This Morning is Broadcasted live on ITV for 10;30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the show features topical stories and guests.
Reason: The reason that This Morning is broadcasted for 10:30 until 12:30 is that it is easy for the target audience to see it. This is because most people who aren't stay at home wife's/mums would be at work or working at this time during the week, so therefore they would be the only people able to view it. |

Costume: The hosts and guests wear everyday casual clothes. This is to make them look similar to their audience and make the audience feel more part of the show.
Hosts: The hosts are of a young age which helps with the visual appeal of the show to the target audience. Guests: The guests are also of a visual appeal appearance and relatively well know which will help the audience to fell more important and connected with the show. Setting: The setting of the show is very vibrant and relaxed. This is to help connect with the audience and make them feel like they are more of a part of the show. This is because the audience would also be typically sat on a sofa so they would feel like they are sat down with them joining in on the conversations being had. Location: The location is in a studio, it has a very modern and relaxed vibe to make the viewer more comfortable when watching the show. |
Costume: The hosts and guests are wearing slightly more formal clothing in comparison to the One Show. This is to make them look important and also help with their visual appeal. It also connotes that the show perhaps appeals to a higher class audience.
Hosts: The hosts are also older than in the One show, this is because again that it is tying to appeal to an older demographic and a higher class audience. Guests: The guests are also of a visual appeal appearance and relatively well know which will help the audience to fell more important and connected with the show. Setting: The setting of the show is very vibrant and relaxed. This is to help connect with the audience and make them feel like they are more of a part of the show. This is because the audience would also be typically sat on a sofa so they would feel like they are sat down with them joining in on the conversations being had. The editing used is very minimal, this is because the show is recorded and cut live. There aren't any transitions used in this, just cuts from shot to shot. There are a few small graphics used in this show but these are very minimal.

Nearest Facilities: Toilets are in the Arcade at the Cambridge leisure centre. These are free.
Available Light: There will be natural light as we are filming outside at midday.
Food and Water: There are many shops nearby to buy food and drink. There are also restaurants available should they be needed.
Sound: Considering the location, there will be a lot of noise pollution around the area. We should chose a quite time to film to prevent this issue as best as possible.

Food and Water: There are nearby vending machine's which supply Cold and Hot Drinks and also Snacks. There is also a canteen available should a crew member or actor need a proper meal.
Sound: The only issue regarding to sound is the school bell. This can be avoided by not recording when the bell is about to go off. Other sound won't be an issue as the studio is inside and protected from audio issues.
