USE EDITING TECHNIQUES

Offline edit and audience feedback:
Audience Feedback on Offline Edit:
I showed me offline edit to two people, these were Chessie and Anna. I made them watch my video and tell me what they thought needed to be changed. This way I can make the offline edit into the online edit. Chessie mentioned that the Snow Visual Effect is missing a sound effect to go along with it. If I add one the effect will become more believable and realistic. So I am going to source a sound effect of wind off of the internet and add this to my video.
Anna said that the shot of the airplane is very shaky and isn't pleasant to watch. So I will go into my editing software and add a video stabilizer effect to the shot. This way the shot doesn't shake and it is pleasing for the viewer to watch.

EXPORTING THE FINAL EDIT
A screen recording video of how I exported my final online edit for the client:
What format are you using for the video?
The format which I am exporting this video at is called H.264 at a Resolution of 1920 X 1080
Why are you using that format?
I am using this format for a few reasons. It is a compressed file type so it will be easy for the client to share, download and transfer. H.264 is also more compatible amongst most computers, this way most computers can view the file. Thus making it more convenient for the client. It is also easily uploaded to online sites like Youtube and Vimeo. And again it is easier for the client to upload it to their own website should they wish to.
What happens if you use a different format? Two other formats.
I would use the format H.264 over other formats. I would use it over Uncompressed 8 Bit as it uses up much less storage. It will also be quicker and easier to share, transfer and upload to websites and social media. Which will make it easier for the client.
I have also chosen the file format H.264 over the file type Apple Pro Res because of the user changeability. I can freely change the resolution to my desire here which is really useful should the client which for it to be changed later on down the line. This will also give me more availability when I need to change the file size because I can just change the resolution.
How will this format allow the client to easily distribute your product?
The file type H.264 (which I chose to export in) is a great format for the client to easily distribute the video. This is because it uses up little amounts of storage space which will make it quicker and easier to upload the video to websites and social media. It is also compatible for most computers so it wouldn't matter which type of computer it was sent to as they can all read this file type.

Original Plans compared to Finished sequence:
My final sequence is very similar to my original planned idea, however there are a few minor changes which have taken place when creating my final sequence.
The script had more information and detail about the story than what was produced. This is because I didn't think realistically about how I could create all of the effects and do all the work within my set time. So, also the storyboard is slightly different to what was produced, this is only by one or two shots. This is because I based the storyboard on the script.
Other than that, everything is the same as the planned materials. The Genre and themes is the same and the planned aesthetic and effects are the same. There is and added effect which wasn't planned in my original consept ideas, this was a snow effect.

Strengths and Weaknesses:
Strengths:
I believe that my strengths of creating the sequence are:
Pre-Production - The Pre-Production of my sequence was vey quick and easy, there wasn't much to change. There were a few documents which needed to be altered but that was it. I was good creating the Pre-Production materials because I had to use my imagination and create an original idea.
Production - I really enjoyed the filming of my sequence and I enjoyed working with a crew. We were quite hasty about filming and got the job done in a reasonable time, this is because I planned with a Gant chart to make sure that it all went to plan. I was confident with the filming equipment and I knew what needed to be done to get the shots which I desired and look aesthetically pleasing. The crew was helpfully to work with and even thought we were unexperienced, we managed to make a compelling sequence because of my planning skills and my teaching.
Post Production - I really excelled at the post production side of creating the sequence, this is because I really focus on editing videos and have lots of experience with them. I also managed to create interesting compelling visual effects that made my video really compelling.
Weaknesses:
Pre-Production - As I hadn't created such a variety of different pre-production materials before, it took a bit longer than expected to. So this over all slowed do my entire production process.
Production - As we had a lot of equipment to use, setting up took a while longer than it typically would when creating a movie sequence. Also, as creating the visual effect was something I hadn't done before so I had to learn how to do that and it took longer than it should.
Post Production - I found that learning how to create the visual effects quite difficult as I wasn't very familiar with photoshop. So it took much longer than it should to create the effects needed to make it look prefessional.
