Changes which need to be made and why these need to be changed referring to the quality of the product, the storyboard and codes and conventions.
Audio Changes:
Firstly, the audio levels of the live recording were very low which means that the show is hard to watch as listening to what is being said can be quite difficult. This will be easy and quick to fix, all I will have to do is to rase the volume in either the editing software or an audio program such as Logic Pro X. When increasing the audio of this, I will have to listen out to ensure that there aren't any issues with the audio. This could mean that the audio is being increased too much and you can start to hear hissing and other sounds which you couldn't hear before. Once the audio has been successfully increased, I will then put it back into the edit where the audio will be ready to export. Doing this will improve the overall quality and professionalism of my product.
In the VT package (02.02), I would definitely put a backing track to it. This will immediately brighten up the mood of the entire VT. It will also help the viewers be interested in what they are listening to, this is because at the moment it is quite boring. Also, I will colour correct the sequence as it is quite dull. Also, in the VT I will add more smooth and aesthetically pleasing transitions between the shots to make the sequence much more fluid and interesting. This again will be important to do as this will ensure that the codes and conventions are met. The codes and conventions suggest that music should represent emotion in TV magazine shows, so having upbeat music will ensure the audience understand that what they are watching is positive.
At (07:54), Joseph laughs while he is talking, so I will edit this out in post production to remove this and get rid of the mistake. Doing this will improve the overall quality of my production and ensure that the show meets professional standards.

Sound effects:
Sound effects could be added when graphics come up on the screen in the next edit. This will entice the audience more and get their attention to what is happening in the sequence. For example, when the twitter section comes in, I could have a bird tweeting SFX. This will grab the attention of the audience which is important for my show, this is because the audience is quite young and the Codes and Conventions state that I need to create enticing content with relations to topics which are relevant for this audience group (social media). Other sound effects I could use could be the Icon 'Vine Boom' Sound effect, I could put this in when the Hot or Not comes in. This would be great for my target audience as Vine is a platform dominated by a young demographic and the use of this sound effect will apply to my audience's needs. |
These sound effects could be added at these times:
04:25 04:50 05:05 05:17 |
Graphics to add:
So, thought the entire piece, I will have some from graphics over the shots. For example, I will use the Hashtag '#AfternoonGossip in the bottom right corner throughout the entirety of the show. Continuing the themes of graphics, I would like to add a title for each sequence, this will be near the bottom of the screen. As most TV magazine shows do this, it would apply to the codes and conventions of a magazine show to have this. This is because the Codes and Conventions suggest that magazine shows have a close relationship with social media as it's their key way to connect to the audience. So doing this will increase my connection with my target audience and increase the codes and conventions followed in my show.

I will also use other Graphics throughout this show. These will include quotes from the show, and will help the viewers when suggesting what to tweet about. In specific sections, at (00.39), I would possibly put the title "Jayden Smith visiting Cambridge". At (01.18), I could have the title "Jayden, A possible live life in Cambridge?" At (04:42), I would put the title, "Jayden's opinions on Cambridge!" At (06:06), I will have the title "Hot or Not? with JaydenSmith!". Doing this will help with the application of the codes and conventions of Teen TV magazine shows. This is because the codes and conventions suggest that using and promoting social media in your TV magazine show will increase audience interaction. This is done in most TV magazine shows as this allows the audience to feel as if they are part of the show and they are important to the creation of the content on the show. This also increase the Audience Needs as they are of a young demographic which dominates social media.
Changes concerning the original planned content:
In the original planned content for the Live TV recorded aspect, I planned the sequence to go in a very similar way to how it did. I planned all the different segments within the part of the show and I managed to bring these across into the actual recoding. The live production (00.00 - 02.02 / 04.42 - 08.50) followed my planned content as I wished it to and made the show look as I planned it to.

Live TV Comparison:
VT package Comparison:
In the original planned storyboard for the VT (02:02 - 04:42), I had the narrator actually in the shot. This was done through the narrator standing in front of the camera and talking about the locations whilst they were there. I decided not to continue with this idea as I wanted to have varying shots to show the viewer more of the location. This gave me the freedom to promote these places and further justify the points in which the voice over narrator was talking about. So, this increased the overall quality of my production, but it also allowed me to have more of conventional TV magazine VT package.
